What's one of the most powerful forces on the planet? LOVE! Maybe that's why Jesus tells the teachers of the law that the most important commandment is to: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." (Mk 12:30 - NIV) What's another powerful force? YOUTH! The Youth/Student Ministry of the Kernersville Church of Christ seeks to be a powerful force for God by loving Him and others. Exciting activities, deep friendships, and character stretching discipleship groups...this and more is what you can expect when you're a part of this growing Ministry.
Children's Ministry — Growing Children in Christ The KCC Children's Ministry is committed to "Growing Children in Christ." We believe every child should have the opportunity to "grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18). Our desire is to help children grow to love Jesus, to live like Jesus and to live for Jesus!Children are Important People at Kernersville Church of Christ We recognize their need to be loved and nurtured in their faith. We know that visiting a new place may cause anxiety for some kids. With that in mind, we try our best to make every child feel right at home from the moment they arrive. Our hope is that coming to church will be something they will look forward to each week. We pray that your child will experience the genuine care that our teachers feel for their students. We trust that they will discover how much fun learning about God's word can be! For more information about our Children's Ministry, please contact Vance Holbrook, Student Minister
1. What kind of church is this? Kernersville Church of Christ (KCC) is a nondenominational Christian church uniting people from diverse backgrounds into a loving, joyful church family. KCC is a place designed to serve both Christians and those who consider themselves spiritual seekers. A little over 100 people currently call KCC home and that number is growing all the time. Our goal is to always make KCC a safe place for people who are looking for answers to their spiritual questions, and simply want to check out Christianity and the message of Christ. It's also a place where those who have decided to follow Jesus Christ can learn and be encouraged in their spiritual growth. 2. How many worship services do you have at KCC? We hold one service on Sunday morning with Sunday School at 10am and a Worship service at 11am. The services last approximately one hour. 3. Our members wear both casual and semi-formal attire (some men may wear a coat and tie and some women may wear dresses). All are welcome and we want you to feel comfortable when you walk in to worship with us. 5. Will I have to say anything, sign anything, give anything, or be singled out in any way? Rest assured that you won't be put on the spot, singled-out, or embarrassed. Though we do pass an offering plate, we don't want anyone to feel obligated to give--the service is our gift to you! Kernersville Church of Christ is committed to the principles of our independent Christian background, as expressed by phrases like these:•Where the Bible speaks, we speak; where the Bible is silent, we are silent.•In essentials, unity; in opinions, liberty; and in all things, love.•No creed but Christ. We accept the the 66 books of the Bible as the sole authoritative source of information concerning the will of God manifested in the person, life and teaching of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we believe and teach:ABOUT GODGod is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.Genesis 1:1,26,27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14 ABOUT JESUS CHRISTJesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father.Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.Matthew 1:22,23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-3-; Hebrews 4:14, 15; 1 Corinthians 15:3,4; Romans 1:3,4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14,15; Titus 2:13 ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRITThe Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with the power for living, understanding spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives all believers a spiritual gift when they are saved. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily 2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:18 ABOUT THE BIBLEThe Bible is God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error.2 Timothy 1:13, 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20,21; Psalm 119: 105,160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5 ABOUT HUMAN BEINGSPeople are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin”. This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life.Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1,2 ABOUT SALVATIONSalvation is God’s free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. 1. You must believe. Not just a "head faith" but a "heart faith" that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. Romans 5:1, Hebrews 11:6, Ephesians 2:8, Romans 10:13, John 3:16.2. You must repent of your sins.Repentance is a "turning from sin" and involves both a sorrow for sin and a true desire to live nearer to Christ in the future. Acts17:30-31, II Peter 3:9 3. You must confess Christ. This is a public witnessing to the fact that you do believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Matthew 10:32-33, Romans 10:10, Matthew 16:13-174. You must be baptized (immersed) into Christ for the remission of your sins.Baptism is not just a religious ceremony but is an act of saving faith whereby the believing repentant, confessing sinner comes into contact with the blood of Christ. Acts 2:38,1 Peter 3:21, Galatians 3:27, Mark 16:16, Romans 6:3-55. You Must be faithful to Christ until death. Matthew 28:10-20, ! Corinthians 15:58, Revelation 2:10 ABOUT ETERNITYPeople were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally close to Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.John 3:16; John 2:25, 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15; Matthew 1:8, 2:44, 46
